Elicia Hyder’s Statement:
We finally have answers.
After 2 years of countless doctors, tests, and procedures, I have been diagnosed with a rare bone marrow cancer/lymphoma called Waldenström macroglobulinemia. It explains so much about my fragile health, including my struggle to write.
The cancer is treatable, but there is no known cure YET. I hope to help change that. I’ll be traveling to Denver and to the Mayo Clinic to meet with the best specialists in the world.
I’m not worried or afraid.
10 years ago, I got worst-case-scenario news on the same day New York called and said they loved my book The Soul Summoner. I beat cancer then and went on to have the best decade of my life.
The same day I was diagnosed this time, a HUGE (super-secret) meeting was happening about that same book again, but this time in Los Angeles with a 3 time Emmy Award winning production company.
Over the last 3 years, producers have been developing the book series for television, in collaboration with an award winning director and with the lead actor of one of Netflix’s top shows.
That’s all I can tell you for now, but we hope to have some news we can share at the end of the summer.
If you’ve read The Soul Summoner you know, I don’t believe in coincidences. My writing is a God-given gift—and God is not finished with me yet.
So just wait and see what happens next.

I am loving me some Elicia Hyder! This series has all my favorite genres rolled up into one book. Elicia has weaved a fantastic and very unique plot that’s a supernatural thriller with tons of mystery, suspense and laugh out loud humor as well as some serious sex appeal.
